Before moving to Maui in 2008 and deciding that hard-shell gourds were her medium of choice,
Jennifer used to collect and paint the exoskeleton of cicada shells that littered the trees near her Midwest home.
“My family’s favorite piece was Santa, in a sleigh, being pulled by Rudolph & eight tiny cicada reindeer.”

When she was introduced to gourds in 1999,  Jennifer instantly fell in love with their versatility
and abundant variety of shapes & sizes. She determined that they were the perfect canvas with which to create
her endless array of whimsical characters. “I am inspired by animals, vibrant colors, primitive folk art and the innocence
of children’s art.

Jennifer’s precision and attention to detail were honed from her prior background as an architectural model-maker.
Working for a large sports architecture firm for over ten years, she built stadium models for NFL & Major League Baseball teams, such as the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens & the New England
                                                                                 Patriots.

"Even if someone doesn’t make a purchase, It's just gratifying knowing that I made them smile.”
